Just a thought. It seems like it is a similar issue where the same debates are happening over and over, and everyone comes in to the arguments with their minds already made up. We are having the same discussions time and again.

Then again I don't recall the original idea behind splitting P&N off of OT, this is just something that came to mind today.

Off Topic was originally created because of religious threads (and the arguments that ensued) being posted in the General Hardware forum. Religious threads were being discussed in Off Topic long before YAGT and the other nonsense that are the staples of that forum today, therefore we are not going to expand P&N or create yet another forum for threads discussing religion
 
Why not rename that forum "heated arguments and flame wars"?

edit: nahhhh, on second thought, that looks bad. How about "Passionate Discourse"

Thats strange. The name used to be Politics, News and Religion from what I remember. They must have changed it sometime.
