I want to expand the range of my domestic wireless internet.

With two wireless router I use one as a main router, connecting to internet cable provider modem and other as a secondary to retransmit the wireless signal.

The main router doesn't suffer any change and the internet is available when directly connected to my computer.

In the secondary I made the following changes:

a) Disabled the DHCP Server.
b) Change the IP LAN address to an value different to main router IP LAN address.
c) I did activated the WDS function an connected to main router.
d) I gave to secondary router the same PSK of main router

The computer connect perfectly to secondary wireless signal but don't offer the internet signal.

I like to count with someone patient to see the followings files of web browser interface of each main and secondary routers and advise me about changes to make in the configuration, including swap of primary and secondary role of routers if necessary.

Here is web interface files links:

for Main Router - Belkin Surf N300 - Model F9K1002

for Secondary Router - SMC Barricade N - Model SMCWBR14S-N2

WDS many times depends on the two Wireless devices to have the same Chipset (or firmware).

Thus even if there is a real native WDS mode on a Wireless Router it is not a guarantee that it will work with all other Wireless Routers.

In many cases what we do is use two Wireless Router that can be flashes with DD-WRT.
Thus creating two compatible devices through the mutual same firmware.

-------------

I am not familiar with the SMC per-se.

However, Judging from your picture it might Not be Transparent WDS.

The Firewall is On. I.e., it probably doing NAT.

Its core subnet is 192.168.2.x is this also the core subnet of the main Router?
