-watch as he lifts 200 pounds - 500 times? no sweat
-lifts 75-pound ammo boxes all day long
-walks up stairs and ramps, delicate enough to play ball or dance around on his toes
-scary Doctor Octopus-style arms when not in use
-Halo-style suit planned for soldier protection (mockup shown near end of video)

:Q

Awesome!! Where do I place my pre-order?? :D

Robert Heinlen would be happy.

Now it just needs shoulder mounted missile-pods.

Ok, that's seriously cool - though it'd be nice if it had better "hands" ... but once that and a centralized power source were to become available, then it'd rock. Though, even with the cord, that thing could be amazing doing S&R for earthquakes and such, having to dig through debris.

We really need like mini nuclear reactor batteries...that's the limitation of so many things right now, poor battery life :p

While the military purpose for this is pretty evident - being able to hold MGs and rocket launchers, along with being able to go through walls and such - the ability it'd give Search and Rescue would be monumental. Not having to wait for a crane or other type of lifting system would decrease the amount of time it'd take to get to victims and such ... you wouldn't -have- to have a centralized power system, but it'd be nice.

Even if they were, it wouldn't cripple the soldier (they could walk right out). As long as we don't become dependent on them, shouldn't be a problem.
