Hi,
I've never had a water cooled system so I think I'll take the safest plunge and go with the Koolance EXOS-Al. Currently, I've got a Thermaltake Xaser III 2000A all running with its 7 stock fans that are driving me mad (in regards to noise) and now determined to jump the gun and go in super-soaker style. I was thinking about switching to a Lian Li V1000 or V1100 case and am wondering if the proposed water cooling kit would actually fit in the case (I'm a little curious because of the lauded "innovative" interior).
Hypothetically speaking, if I would have the case and cooling system set up (1) would the noise level be lowered or increased (dramatically so), (2) would the CPU, Mobo and what not be cooled more efficiently than the current thunder storm I've got, would there be less dust build up in general (3) and, with the water cooling kit installed, would I need any additional fans (besides the two in the case) for cooling the interior or any peripherals(4)?
Thank you very much.
EDIT: Also, does the waterblock that's included with EXOS-Al fit onto a S939 CPU?
On a side note, my current P4 3GHZ with an Asus p4c800-e deluxe is giving me some very high temperature readings - high 40cs and low 50cs with only a few internet explorer windows running! As I said, everything in the case is stock and all 7 case fans(Thermaltake XaserIII V2000A) are running and the stock fans for the appropriate hardware are running as well. Is it possible that there are too many fans and that the cycle of airflow is incorrect and is actually causing those hellishly hot temps, or is that normal (My room temperature is usually around 21c-25c)? On the flipside, do you think with a new case (v1000 or v1100) and an exos-al I could expect some better idling temps?
