Hi everyone, I've been a consulting electrical engineer in Chicago for the past year and three months. I've been in the power systems industry and have learned a ton.. worked for many different clients. I've done work for ADM (Archer Daniels Midland), Vulcan Materials, and many other smaller clients.. recently I've been given the responsibility to consult for BP at one of their largest refineries, 3 days a week.

I'm in charge of assisting the head engineers over there in the upgrade and management of their entire electrical infrastructure.. it's a multi million dollar project that's part of a multi billion dollar expansion. The highlight of my career. There is probably nobody else that gets an opportunity like this so soon out of college.

Knowing that I'll never get a better opportunity than this, I want to move into something else after it's done that will allow me to grow even more.

I've learned a ton of soft skills and project management skills and want something that is more software/business oriented - is there anything reasonable I can move into that won't put me into entry level? I was thinking of business IT.. something leadership related.

is grad school an option?

Too much debt. I see where you're going though, MBA would be a great option. I'm going to be waiting until at least 28 to seriously consider grad school. I need to mature and get better rounded in certain aspects of my life first.

I was thinking of applying to BP/Shell/Exxon/Marathon based on my experience, as a full time employee.

Since you already have work experience I think you can get some kind of funding opportunities... why not give it a shot.
