Anyone ever take a handgun to be threaded? Any idea on the cost or where to go? Or what the threads should be on a Walther P99?

<< I'm checking on that. >>

You would need a class III license. It can be had, for a ton of money. Oh, and only if the state you live in allows.

LOL, yeah if your in Texas, your good to go... :) I'm in IL so I'm screwed!

Usually for silencers, they replace the barrel with one that is slightly longer. Maybe a cm or so. That extra length is what the silencer screws to. If you can find the threaded barrel, its probaly something you can do yourself. I'm not sure because some guns have the barrel pressed or screwed into the frame and I don't know about the P99.

silenced weapons are a felony. Need it for your "home protection" setup with the NV goggles? I guess it is better if you don't wake your parents when you are shooting in the house at night.

No, I just would like to have one is all. How could it be a felony if you get a license? That doesn't make any sense. And there's no need to insult me, if you don't like what I have to say, don't read the thread.

Not trying to insult you, just a little curious as to your fascination with guns.

I don't know. I only own 1 handgun and a shotgun. Have you ever shot a weapon in an enclosed area with no ear protection. How did it feel?

ROFLPIMP! Sorry, I just found that extraordinarily funny. Hey, you just want to save on the price of hearing protection, right?

On that note, do you know what regulations there are regarding tear gas grenades? I'd really like to have a few for Michigan weekend next year (if there are more of the stupid riots, I plan to toss the grenades near my car if anyone tries to flip/damage it).

:) Glad you liked it. :) Regarding grenades, we figured out in another thread that getting flashbangs or CS canisters would be illegal.

I see you got my original answer. :) Its true, I like 'rare' things. I like to collect things. :)

Hey, I think those foam inserts are like 29 cents or something crazy like that...

Shoot indoors?? I am not that stupid, and I wear hearing protection at the range.

I used to have this video called "deadly weapons" They had a ruger 1022 that was modded with a silencer that is so quiet that all you could hear is the action move when a round was fired. The silencer was the whole barrel. Truly silent. Only subsonic bullets can be truly silenced because of the sound barrier.

If you are ever near Tulsa, hit me up and we'll go on a shooting spree.

I'm guessing potatoes don't actually work in real life? Because I saw it on a tv show once.

Actually, last time I went to WallyWorld for some, they were 10 for $2. The save money part was a joke, as the suppressors are about $200, compared to $2.

Check out the supressed .22 berreta in the link above. It's in the Supressed Weapons -> Supressed .22s category. Now that looks damn quiet. If I'm in Tulsa we'll defitely hit the range.

Hehe, not at the range. I mean in an actual situation. You realize you probably won't have you ear protection handy. :)

I knew it was a joke, thats what I was trying to say. Mine was a joke too... Jokes aren't funny if you have to explain them...

FFL III and you can have one.

As far as tear gas, grenades, etc., i believe are off-limits to civilians. I know you can buy 38mm launchers and 38mm stuff, like flares, smoke, etc. Nothing chambered in 40mm is availible outside of the military or police, or that's what i was told.
