So I downloaded some videos *ahem* off of Kazaa, mpg format. When I open them with WMP, they direct IE to some damn porn spam or moneymaking website. If I open them with PowerDVD, it says "Unknown file format." Since when can you perform an execution, such as opening a browser window to a specific website, from a data file? All you're doing is reading information, not executing codes.

Ran virus scan, adaware, and running Kerio, no anomalies there.

I hate that...somehow some prefix executable gets put on the video file. Friend of mine emailed me a video once that did that.

Off the top of my head I know Premiere and Cleaner allow you to place flags in video files that will open a website. You can even have the event performed at a specific point in the video.

In Windows Media Player, go under Tools, Options, Security tab and make sure the boxes relating to scripting are unchecked.

Must be a 7.1 option, 7.0 has no Security tab.
