Exclusive fullscreen crashed messed up my display

Hello, I have a R9 270X. I was going to play Thief today and I put it to play in exclusive 3d mode. It crashed and I had to end task the game. When back at the desktop the video wasn't smooth anymore. Like the mouse poling looked bad wasn't smooth, even opening and closing browsers wasn't smooth. I rebooted, same thing, uninstalled and reinstalled video driver, same thing. I ended up taking the easy route and used system restore to restore my settings from a couple weeks ago which worked. Any idea what could've caused this?

Probably should've included I put it in Exclusive fullscreen for 3d.

Very strange. Maybe an intermittent hardware problem that just happened to disappear, unrelated to the system restore? Does the game crash now under the same conditions?

I don't know i'm affraid to try it again. I've played tomb raider fine. It's almost like the desktop itself in the windows environment was still trying to run in that mode or something as the screensize was still shrunk too. Really wierd. I'm just playing it on normal full-screen non-3d now.

You want 1080p and do a HDC but I dont know.
