And random musing on the Sessions recent memory restoration...intentional political seppuku to pave way for Mueller firing? Gives them a valid reason to dump Sessions. Appoint new AG that isn't recused, then have them promptly dump Mueller?

No. I think Sessions did a fine job of setting the record straight himself.

If he did such a great job setting the record straight, and assuming today's reporting is accurate, why is he admitting now that he made yet another false statement?

That sure doesn't sound like setting the record straight to me, haha.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...proposal-campaign-adviser-source-says-n817001

Attorney General Jeff Sessions rejected a proposal by a junior campaign aide who offered to use his "Russian contacts" to try to set up a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The aide, George Papadapoulos, has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, and documents released Monday show he was in contact with Russians who offered him "dirt" on Hillary Clinton — including thousands of emails.

This new revelation is significant because Sessions told Congress under oath in June that he had "no knowledge" of any conversations by anyone connected to the Trump campaign about "any type of interference with any campaign" by Russians.

Congressional investigators want to question Sessions about the new disclosures and his new recollection, multiple Congressional officials told NBC News. Both the judiciary and the intelligence committees have an interest in doing so, the officials said.

I'm sure he'll really set the record straight any minute now and THIS TIME there won't be any more lies about contacts with the Russians.

haha

lol
He immediately shut down Papadopoulos' request and moved onto other topics...doesn't sound like he or the campaign was trying to collude with the Russians to me, quite the opposite in fact. Also, the source specifically said (and apparently thought it very important to note) that Papadopoulos did not leave a lasting impression....so in other words he was easily forgettable.

Remembering something that happened a long time ago is not easy for most (especially the older among us) unless those memories are triggered in some way. I see no clear or obvious intent to deceive here. But it now appears that we have clear evidence that the campaign immediately rejected Papadopoulos' request...I would think that a true "patriot" like you would be happy to know this.

Damn...busted again! Yes, I admit it...I'm not nearly as intelligent as you think you are. Feel better?
Coming from you? It means nothing at all. Thank the goodness my self-esteem hinges only on what I know of me.

*I'm the goodness I'm thanking. You know, just in case you couldn't break my code speak.

Yeah, I can't even count how many times I've been offered a sit down meeting with Vladimir Putin at a large campaign meeting with senior staff that I later forgot about. lol.

You can't be serious.

Yeah I usually have a tough time remembering something that I not only 'vehemently' shoot down in a meeting and then demand no one ever speak of again. You see no clear or obvious attempt to deceive here other than him having made repeated false statements under oath? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

For someone who constantly thinks everyone else is lying you are incredibly, bizarrely credulous of statements made by people who have lied about this topic at every available opportunity. Let me guess, you still believe Trump Jr. wasn't offered anything at the meeting in Trump Tower too, haha.

Doc... slamming doors in the face of facts. Go Team Stupid! Or is that Team Complicity, Team Alternative Facts, Team Corruption, Team Treason? You pick one. They're all so spot on I can't pick just one. Truly a dilemma I've found myself in here.

Yeah...the 'forgettable' part of what the source said should be completely ignored.

One would certainly have to be a special kind of inept stupid to not remember that shirtless horse-riding god wanting anything to do with you in any capacity.

Even if Trump got dirt on Hillary, how is Hillary paying millions for the dossier any different?

Steele was paid $168K

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...rump-dossier-u-s-firm-discloses-idUSKBN1D15XH

Also there is a subtle difference between paying (an ex brit spy in this case) for opposition research and actively engaging a hostile foreign government in coordination to use illegally obtained documents in order to sway the election in you favor...presumably in exchange for some later favorable treatments.

What news story are you referring to? I haven't seen any news story where the same source that described the meeting described him as 'forgettable'. I'm pretty sure that was an entirely different campaign source and Trump campaign sources have a giant, obvious reason to lie about his importance to the campaign.

At this point it's hard to think about aspects of their relationship with Russia Trump's campaign/administration HASN'T lied about.
