The only way to stop him from making more money is to take him into an alley and lynch him! Hahaha!

LeBron James will be disappointed that Tiger will beat him to become the first athlete-billionaire. I still shake my head that is one of his stated goals ...

I wonder if Tiger ever becomes involved in a scandal (of his fault or not), if he'll just drive the golf cart off into the distance and enjoy his spoils. I could see that happening after he breaks Jack Nicklaus' major title record.

Why would you shake your head? I have a lot of respect for the guy, he is young but is following in the footsteps of Jay Z, Michael Jordan, and Russell Simmons rather than MC Hammer. Don't just work your talent and make $20 million / year, create an empire and make hundreds of millions.

Is he really creating an empire? I thought he made all his money from playing golf and endorsements. If you're making 80 million a year doing that who needs to create an empire. Edit, you're talking about Lebron James, I'm not sure how much of a lifestyle difference there is between a couple hundred million and a billion...

I do agree it's pretty amazing how much money Tiger is making year after year. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy either. Another one I found shocking was Jerry Seinfeld, he makes 60 million a year off Seinfeld and does nothing.

An empire in terms of these guys is branding yourself and selling that brand, effectively creating a multi-million dollar business with you as the product. LeBron footwear, LeBron clothing, LeBron basketballs, I don't know if these all exist but this is how it typically works.

It isn't just endorsements in the sense that he is paid $1 million to pitch Lucky Charms, people like Jordan co-own the products with their name on it. This makes them smart business people and in the end, rich as hell.

Michael Jordan's net worth is currently hovering around half a billion dollars. I'd say it's safe to assume he's made more than a billion since 1984.

Hell, his divorce cost him $168 million dollars!!!
