Exchanging something at BestBuy without reciept?

I bought an FM transmitter for my iPod about 3 weeks ago, and just yesterday it stopped working out of the blue while I was using it.

I want to take it back to BestBuy and exchange it for a new one but I can't seem to find my reciept. Do you think this will be a hassle?

I was thinking of calling and asking to talk to a manager first before coming down so I could explain the situation. Do you think that would be of any benefit to me?
 
Don't worry, they keep track of all the info you need in their service plan program. You did buy the service plan, right? Because otherwise you're hosed. Send it back to the manufacturer.
 
Can you look at your statement online? If you can hit the date and the price, they'll probably do it...
