Exchanging Numbers...

I also collect watches and many of the guys on my forum have exchanged numbers to call and talk watches and the like...

How many of you have exchanged cell numbers to talk out new builds, help with issues, and the like?

Not on here no, but back when IRC was huge we use to have conference calls. Typically 20 or more people and nobody really knew who was who. Somebody would generally call a 900# sex line and try to get the female on the phone to talk about Visual Basic code and shit like that.

my mom jst got me a sweet new phone with one of thos free numbers so all the frends I meet on teh internet can call me and we can talk about my new computer! call me!!1! 1-800-843-5678

but no. I hate talking on the phone. I have called a couple users who asked me to and gave my number to Ross. Ross likes to talk on the phone 🙂

For regular chit chat I prefer: email, texting, facebook and skype. In that order.

Ok, I guess skype is a good solution too.

I was just thinking if you are in the middle of a build or something, having issues, maybe don't have a 2nd pc to communicate with, it could be helpful...

I may be new here but not new to forums. I don't know why it still surprises me that guys who have been around for a while forget they were new a some point and get a bit condescending...

I avoid the phone at all costs. I've helped people on forums that wanted to call instead of typing. I don't dig that at all, and won't give my phone number for crap like that. I'm not chatty, and I don't want new phone friends. If a call lasts more than a minute, there's probably better ways to communicate.

we are computer nerds. This forum is the most social interaction that most of our users get.

Well besides recording chicks wearing high healed boots....
