About 2 hours ago a minor power surge caused our office Exchange server to go tits up. It came back online, started to rebuild the database (roughly 30k support and internal emails), and another surge kicked it offline again. Now it's up, but apparantly minus all the emails.

Since my job consists of phone support + email support, and the phone ain't ringing, I guess I've got time to spare.

I wonder if the IT guy would like the backup copy of the support folders that I keep on my desktop harddrive? I think I'll wait until just before I go home to tell him :)

if it's going to help him, why fuck him over?
unless you're planning on quitting soon or independently wealthy, i don't get the idea of fucking over your source of income.

Don't look at me, I didn't setup the place. Some of our computers have to be 10 years old at least, one is running on a P3 of some sort, I don't think anything in here is new. Plus, they supposedly had some sort of power conditioning setup, as only the Exchange server went down, the rest are fine.

Because I know that they do nightly backups, and that a PST file from me won't really be much use to him in rebuilding the server. It was mostly a joke on my part.
