exchange server alt?

We don't use an exchange server at my job, but outlook is on my symbol (work phone) I'm running ubuntu server at home. Is there a way I can sync my phones address book/contacts using and alt prog? as my phone has become corrupt 3x so far and I lose all my #, I'd like to beable to re-sync after a repair.

phone is a mc70, running mobile 5 (it think)

would like a server side only alt, and use the outlook client if possable

I'll have to check those out, thanks. I'd like to use the outlook client if possible though as it is preloaded on a fresh install.

From a quick look, Tine is probably what I want as I just need contacts synced between me and a few of my co-workers.

Just out of curiosity, why not just back up your contacts every couple weeks?

I just wanted to sync from work, or as soon as I get my handheld back. Also to share contacts with a few of my buddies.

Thanks for showing me Tine 2.0, Zimbra charged for mobile, and egroupware was just shitty. This might be decent.
