 I bought the Radeon 8500 about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I'm generally happy with it, except to play tribes 2 I have to dual boot to win 98( normally use xp). It looks freakin fantastic in 98, but the FPS suck.
Come Friday my 30 days will be up to return it as per Best Buys return policy.
According to all reviews I've read, the Radeon competes well with the GF3 Ti's , and have more head room for improvement with driver updates. One article stated that Nvidia may be reaching it's peak performance, and not to expect much gains from further detonator releases.
ATI's track record for drivers is sucky, but should I be patient.
My head hurts, HELP!!!!!

if you wanted to exchange why dont ya go ahead and exchange.
No one here can give you a decisive input but yourself. This 8500 or gf3 ti question been asked for zillionth of times. Exchange it and if you find that gf3ti is more to your liking then keep it. You wont loose anything.

If you get a GF3 ti500, try to get the Leadtek or Gainward variety. This will ensure you get the best possible 2d IQ with a GF3 chip.
You could always _try_ the Visiontek and see if you like it.
