ok, i have exchange server 2003 std and 50 outlook 2003 clients that i am setting up to use the exchange server for sharing one calander between everyone, but in addition to this 3 people that also use that global calendar will share a group calendar where only these 3 can access it, make appointments, etc. I figured out how to have user1 add delegates for user2 and user3 to share user1's calender, and also how for user2 and user3 to view, change user1's calender.

Is there an easier way to let everyone just use 1 shared calander and not have their own private calanders?

Is it possible to have outlook default to the shared calander of user1 and never open up the other calender of which ever user logs into outlook?

So then i could have all 50 use user 4's calander, sharing it since user 4 gave permission to all other 49 users to be editors of it, and for only users 1,2,3 to show both that calendar of user 4 everyone shares and to share user 1's own calender.

Create calendars inside of public folders if they are truely for group purposes. assign permissions. Your users might actually want to use their calendars eventually for their own purposes.

You can do either. Both will populate names based on the global catalog, if you want to do it based on account do a ctrl+click on the permissions button from within ESM.

Well we're still on Exchange 2k and Outlook 2k here but I usually create the folder in Outlook. Set Folder Contains to "Appointment items". Then go through both the outlook properties of the folder and system manager and make sure you have it all set up. Outlook and Exchange system manager give different options for configuration.
