Not bad for a very decent little laptop. The ATI mobility radeon is a nice bonus as well. I have tested this laptop before and I think it's quite nice. Much better then a comparable Celery model and I couldn't much speed difference between the athlon 2200 speeds and the P4 2.0ghz speeds.

There are other different laptop deals on these forums (search this forum for "laptop") but I think this one is the cheapest and best deal IMO. Finally staples is putting back some decent computer deals again after a long drought. ($300 compaq athlon desktops were the last decent ones I remember)

Don't forget to add $70 for an A/C adapter which doesn't seem to be included with the base price...

Wait a minute, what!?!? $70?

Still a pretty decent deal, especially with some other upgrades (embedded wireless, dvd/cdrw combo, ...)

Thanks for the links dafury.

7.25lbs average I think according to compaq's site.

I also doubt it doesn't come with a power adapter. How could it not come with one? That $70 is probably for an extra adapter.

good deal but the weak ATI IGP graphic is good not enough for the type of work that I do. I wish they used a Radeon 9000 or something like that on this thing.

did some more checking. you can build the same unit on compaq.com for $799. there are also more options like hard drives.

is it confirmed this thing doesn't come with a power supply?

how about the memory. think it can be had for cheaper outside compaq or staples?

anyone have a link to the $50 rebate on $500 or more?
