Has anyone else experienced this? When I want to shut down XP it can take 2-3 minutes before the computer shuts down from the time I tell it to. It's pretty annoying when I'm trying to restart the computer after updates or loading programs. I'm guessing it's motherboard related and not XP. I have a Intel 845PE mobo and come to think of it started after bios update a while back but I can be sure that's the problem since Intel doesn't give you a way to go back to older bioses.

I whould said it sounds like your running something in the backround but on shut down you whould have seen something like close program or end task.. So with that said, It may very well be motherboard related. If it did not start to you updated the bios. You can't flash it back to the old bios?

What kind of keyboard do you have? I had an issue with the Logitech Elite keyboard. The drivers for some reason make it take forever to shut down. I haven't tried new revisions of the drivers though...

Yeah, I have the same logitech problem, the software that comes with it (itouch) has a known issue with that, not fixed yet:

exit out of it before you shut down your computer and it should take no time to shut down :)

I have a Logitech keyboard too, are you sure it's the keyboard drivers? I'm gonna try another keyboard I have lying around.

Thanks guys you're right, it was the Logitech software causing the problem.
