i have a Dual PII 400 system w/ 128mb.

is it common to have this high mem usage?

it is starting to lockup my system, with just one communicator window open, i am getting 128.5 mb used

Are you running a 2.4.0x kernel? I noticed that shared mem was 0 with the new kernel. At least, last time I checked. And notice how linux is using a lot of RAM for buffering and caching. That's why the mem use is high.
