girl: i love the onion!

girl: vacation or place that makes me happiest?
dolph: well, i'm concerned that if i say happiest, i'll say something retarded like disneyland while you say working at a children's hospital
girl: you are frighteningly on target
dolph: aw shjt.
girl: it's a summer camp for kids with cancer
girl: don't think i'm altruistic, though... i get more out of that place than i give
dolph: yeah, but there are a lot less heart wrenching ways to earn a buck
girl: oh, it's volunteer

from this little bit i posted, yeah, she does seem annoying. but from talking to her for 6 hours over the course of 2 nights Q), she's quite alright.

You can't win with chicks who have causes. You'll never be as important to her as saving the slugs or whatever, yet they won't just have no-strings-attached sex with you either.

My bet is that she is playing with you a little. She probably enjoys talking to you, stringing you along for her own personal enjoyment. From the excerpts you posted, I wouldn't start reading too much into it. You set yourself up both times for her to make herself look real good. By all means continue talking to her - you probably have a friend at least - but anything more? Online even? Don't bet on it.

And yes, I have been in a online friendship thingy before.

steve, my man... i'm only posting the outtakes. the comedy bits. i could give a hundred examples of the conversation that blatantly states, "we are going to go on a date very soon, and it won't be our last, either," but i'm only doing the funny parts now. i'm sorry you've been burned before, but my situation has a lot more than meets the eye.

If it has lots more than meets the eye, how can we tell if you'll really get her or not? I've met a couple local girls via the net. We talk on the phone, as often as I'd talk to some other girl I'm going to take out. And usually it's purpose serving friendships. If you don't go on the date soon, as in a few days of meeting her, and keep up the net relationship, I don't think it's going to work.
