Excellent Performance, Cheap CPU HSF Coolers For Overclocker. -Rated for AMD Athlon & Duron beyond 1.1 Ghz

No I don't work for Taisol. I've been here on Anandtech for more than
9 months now, and finally feel that I have something worthwhile to contribute to the forum. Heck, with as much time as I have spent touting Taisol as a cheap & effective cooling solution, I might as well work for them. I will then finally have something to put in my resume for my business & computer degrees. That would be nice.

Hmm. One thing I noticed was the voltage wasn't set above default (1.5 in this case) until 850MHz. Don't know is they were using a 600, 650 or 700. At 900MHz the voltage is only up to 1.6.

I just mention this because I see guys with much higher voltages than this test.

Vpham97,

I'm the No1 Taisol pimp !! stay clear 😛 😛 😛. If your going to pimp ya haf to get the #'s right. Its CEK733092. I bin pimping it for weeks.

I'm sorry Big Daddy O, I didn't mean to tread on your territory there. If you hit my link, it show the full nomemclature for the Taisol. I'm just using short cut here for easy memorization. Also, I think Rudee might want to know whether or not if you work for Taisol also. Punch my Link, and leave your review of it if you like it so much.

Oh Yeah, I pimped Taisol heatsinks for p3s. 😛 😛 😉

Seriously though, i have not been impressed by a sub $15 heatsink until I tried one of these. The gorb/gorb children never really impressed me that much. They looked cool, and cooled adequately, but they don't cool like the taisol does.

Anand's and Sharky's T-bird 1.2GHZ also use the taisol heatsink. 🙂 Looks like Taisol was a bit conservative when rating their heatsink.

I think because they are getting "freebies" from AMD to evaluate they have to use a AMD approved HSF - which the TaiSol is.

Vphahm97,

Your forgiven, he he. Not sure if the Taisol being used with the 1.2gig is the CEK733092 or its big brother 734092 ?? Too lazy to check Taisols site. Taisol is certainly not the 'best' but at the price, the performance is oustanding. (Taisol with PCTC about the same as a tube of Arctic Silver).

From looking at the pictures, it looks like the CEK733092.

its bigger brother certainly is impressive looking, but I dont' think it is the one used in the review setups.
