excel xp and enter key

in older versions of excel when you hit enter after putting something in a cell it then selected the cell below it....... why doesnt xp do that? its pissing me off..... is there a way to chage it so it does?

I'm using Excel 2002... that's the latest version, right? Enter makes my cell selection move down by default.

tools>options>edit

check "Move selection after Enter" and choose direction "Down"
