EXCEL Question

...anyone know how many rows/columns one can use? Is it memory limited, or is there a cap? ...hate to start adding things only to find I reached the upper limit...

fwiw, there's also a maximum size, tho i'm not sure what it is. i was adding loads and loads of graphs to an excel doc and it eventually said something to the tune of "couldn't create <another object>". it also would give the error "cannot save document" when trying to save it, unless i removed some graphs.

Thank you both...will keep that in mind...at 37K +/- now, but was hoping to paste about 10 more data sets into the mix🙂 guess I'll break them down a bit into a half dozen seperate files, thanks.

Each sheet is limited to the 65536 column/row each way. You can have multiple sheets in a single Excel file. The default is 3 sheets in Office 97 and later.

I have not run into problems with actual file sizes, as I have seen some over 100MB in size at work. Takes a while to load though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you are still limited to 256 columns in Office 2000.

Argh.....sorry, you guys are right....it's 256 columns and 65536 rows.
