Weird problem started in Excel.
With any spreadsheet (existing with data or new blank), the numerical entry is divided by 1000. ie: 5555=5.5
With old sheets, if I replace an existing cell with a new number, the new number is divided by 1000 and the entry will be 1/1000 of the entry. Same with a new sheet.
Format setting changes do not alter this effect.
I reinstalled Excell (Microsoft Office 2000) after deleting the previous installation and the problem persists.
If I take a file and open it up on a seperate machine, this does not occur. Hence, the spreadsheet settings are not the problem.
Virus scans do not reveal any viruses.
Please email me if you have any suggestions, as well as post here for others who may get this weirdo.
