Excel (Office XP) visual basic problem

OK, odd problem.

Whenever I launch Excel - either an existing document or begin a new file - the Visual Basic console pops up every time (window title GWXL97.xla) with an error dialog box "Compile Error. Can't find project or library".

Any idea what the heck this is about?? I have not been doing any VB editing nor using Office files that could be virus/macro-virus infected. An Office "Detect and Repair" didn't seem to help.

Any thoughts? The other Office XP apps (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Frontpage) launch just fine.

Yes. Acrobat 6 Professional is installed. However, this error began occuring well after it was installed and working properly.

Hey... just fixed the problem.

I did a file search and found the "GWXL97.xla" file. Apparently, it was left over from Novell GroupWise 6, which I just recently un-installed.
I removed it from the Office startup folder, and all is back to normal again.

Arg. Some times I hate Windows. Actually, what I hate are applications that don't un-install properly. I mean, come on programmers... how hard can it really be to remember to remove an Excel macro file when your application is removed??
