Is there a way to select an entire row without the mouse? I'm getting pretty good at not using the mouse with that program and this is one of the functions that I keep using it for. Thanks!

hehe...I teach Excel classes, and let me tell you, I HATE people who use the mouse for everything in Excel, it drives me nuts!

Two quick ones for you - to select a column, press control-spacebar, and to select a row, press shift-spacebar

You are welcome!

sweet thanks! here's another slightly more abstract question. I need to change row heights by small increments and the way I do that is by dragging the cell larger 1 pixel at a time. Is there a way that I can get that same drag effect with the arrow keys?

nice little trick, NeoV

btw, someone posted this a while back: excel tips
might want to look if they have something you need.

but for adjusting row heights, I found out yesterday (by accident) that you can select which rows to adjust the height of, then adjust one of the selected rows, and all of them will become same height. Of course, that might not be what you're looking for since it involves using mouse to drag things here and there.

And while we're on the topic of excel - can i put a background image on a particular cell? or that's taking excel way out of the intended usage? ,p
