Per subject... Just want to freeze both the column and row headers simultaneously...

I can freeze one or the other but not both... Tried to use the ctrl key to select both and it looks like it works but doesn't...

HOW do I do this?

What you need to do is, put the cell cursor on the cell whose upper-left corner is between the row and column you want to freeze. So if you want to freeze just row 1 and just column A, put the cursor on B2. Then just go to Window ->Freeze Panes. If you select the entire row or entire column, then the panes will only freeze on that axis.
