cant figure out this stuff for the life of me.

An oil company sells heating oil at the prices based on the number of gallons used in a season:
0 ? 1000 gallons $1.65 / gallon
1001 ? 2000 gallons $1.59 / gallon
2001 + gallons $1.55 / gallon

How much would 750 gallons cost? 1000? 1500? 2500? 3000?
How many gallons are purchased at each price level?

I got the first question easily. But i cannot figure out how to determine how much was sold at each price level.

Example. if 1500 gallons are sols, 1000 gallons are sold at 1.65, 500 at 1.59.

I have been doing this for hours.

I am tired, and feelin really sick. Please Help. Please avoid flaming me.

EDIT: this is all easy to do in my head. But i need to do it on excel, more notably on pocket excel.
 
just put 3 rows in for each price level. then compute the quanitity for each row useing formulas, and compute a subtotal for each row, then sum the freakin subtotals.
