Hi all.....
I'm trying to figure out a way to calculate the elapsed time in Excel 2000.
I want to input two dates and times of this format: 3/25/03 1:15:23 PM -and- 3/26/03 10:05:12 AM
I'd like to know what the total number of days, hours, minutes and seconds are. I've tried using the custom formatting feature, but that's giving me weird numbers. There are ways to get the elapsed days, or the elapsed time in Excel too, but for some reason using them and putting the two pieces together don't agree with just doing it by hand.....and I know for certain that the hand calculation is correct.
I've needed this kind of routine for a while now and now I guess it's time to ask for help cuz I sure can't get a solid result and it's just too time consuming to do this by hand.
I've looked on the web for some 'canned' routine, but I haven't found anything yet.
Does anyone out there know how to do this?
Thanks.....
