i was browsing through my bookmarks and noticed that excal pc is back... dunno if there are any hot deals since i just started browsing but maybe its good to know lol... should this be somewhere else?

edit: seem that that little free rider shipping feature is gone. prices seem a bit high now that im going through it. can't find anything that would compell me to buy.

it is back, but all the price are rocket sky high...................... I used to pick the PQI 1gb TCCD for just $99 but it is no longer available 🙁

you tend to think that when websites renovate they come back better. sure the site design is a little bit improved but with everything 25% more than you can get them anywhere else i dont think this belongs in the HD section now :\

wow, thats a steal. wish i had cashing in on that

Prices are outrageous, and I think their site design is harder to navigate than their old one.

They are using the same reseller ratings from the old EXcaliberPC...I thought they were bought out.

Anyone know the story or has ordered from this one? This one doesn't seem to have all the Abit spare parts like the old on did either...

It used to be "eXcaliberPC" If they got bought out, note the subtle difference in names.

They're Dothans are competitively priced, before shipping. Not so much afterward.

I bought my overclocking monster back in the days from them. Getting exact steppings was their claim to fame back then. Still running great today!

I checked out their website yesterday and it seems as if they may have just somehow bought excaliberpc's name. That seems to be the only similarity between the old site and the new. They now carry different brands (they used to carry G.Skill) and now their prices have become unreasonable. I used to pick up my orders from their location in Fremont, but it looks as if the company address has changed as well. This is not anything like the awesome excaliberpc of old........

What a shame I bought some 1700 JIUHB's and some nice Mushlin there back in the day too.

Sad to see a great vendor go.

All I know is that I have an unsettled dispute/RMA from their past operations, and the only way they respond is when you turn the issue over to your credit card co.

Yeah, definitely a shadow of its former self.

Perhaps one of those crappy companies decided to buy them out and then use their good name to rip people off?

I think I bought a replacement BIOS chip from them for my mobo a year and a half ago. Saved my ass when my computer refused to boot, heh 😛

Yep, they better straighten out their shipping or they are toast. The True550 EPS I am after was the same great price as before, but $16.80 for express ground shipping!?! and that was the cheapest one!

Not accepting orders until April anyways - perhaps they will have cleaned up their act by then. They are asking for suggestions - up to you.

.bh.

I remember reading a post awhile back, I think on EOCF, saying that someone went to go check out their store and it said something about remodeling and indefinite closure. Not sure if they were bought out, but it looks likely. I wish I could find that thread...

Sounds like a rumor to me. Hopefully there is no truth to it, because we need more solid competitors to the Egg, as much as I buy from them.

E-mailed them with a few suggestions, such as the crazy shipping prices and they emphasized the site was just in beta. I also gave them the link to this thread, so hopefully someone is reading. They seemed friendly enough, anyway.

Personally I think the only thing they need to do is limit their products to the core ones to keep prices down and bring back the things they were known for, such as flexible/reasonable shipping, good service, CPU steppings, and prices.
