The other thread about the moron who road raged and then bitched about it got me thinking. Everyone tell your stories of witnessed road rage in this thread.

I was parked at KFC waiting for my sister to get off work and I saw a guy in a van pull across a two lane - one way street in front of a construction worker in a truck.

The truck slammed on its breaks and followed the guy into the KFC parking lot and cut him off. The guy in the truck jumped out with a framing hammer in his hand (longer than normal handle), and the other guy pulled a tire iron.

At this point I was hoping to see who would win, hammer vs longer metal rod. But after cursing each other out about 10 feet apart they got back in their vehicles and left. Boring :(

What kind of road rage/etc have you been witness to?

nothing that violent personally.

but i do live in quite a busy intersection in brooklyn NY. every driver here is retarded, and thinks they can drive and so bullies everyone. new york drivers have such big heads, but they really aren't bad at all.

then again i learned to drive in a developign country where you have no rules, so to me the "scary nyc cab drivers" are probably from similiar backgrounds and i really consider them normal.

Just my $0.02 :

Road Rage is not a driving style. It is a driving attitude.

To give an example, I have a friend who I will not ride with. He drives slow everywhere (generally at or below the speed limit, including in the left lane), but heaven help the person who wants to pass him. He gets all pissed off, will block them, jack the brakes on them, speed up if they try to get around, cut them off, swerve into them, follow them if they do get past, etc. It's ridiculous... he is the poster child of road rage IMO.

I did something which I no longer recall to piss of some guy who was a passenger in a white painters type van when I lived in FL. It so happened we were near a light and it was red so we were both forced to stop. The passenger gets ouf of the van and menacingly walks toward me as if he was going to do something at which point I am thinking what is in my car I can use in defense. Then the guy turns around and gets back in the van. He might have flipped me a bird but after 15 years I really cannot recall. That incident stands out for me, though.

Not really any stories worth repeating from my perspective. Living in the D.C. area just means that "road rage" type incidents can be viewed about every 5 minutes on our highways. I just try to "chill" by staying in one lane in order to get where I need to go safely.

Finally, I haven't followed the whole story too well, but I feel for the guy who stopped to change his tire on I-95 ... only to be hit by some Diplomat and dragged 8 miles. :(

Edit: I find this very, very sad.

(03.02.04) ? The man charged with dragging another man under his car for more than 8 miles was in court this morning.

Josuel Galdino faces manslaughter, felony hit and run and drunk driving charges. Investigators say Fitsum Gebreegziabher was changing his tire Sunday morning when Galdino's car plowed into the back of his Toyota Camry on i-95.

Detectives say Galdino stopped briefly but continued driving 8 more miles to his home in Lorton, dragging the victim with his car.

Investigators also say Galdino didn't call 911 for two hours after the accident.
