Exactly one more month of Noah on The Daily Show and that's it!

Am watching this right now, released 12 hours ago. I am going to miss Noah, hope there's stuff out there (Youtube, ?) after December 8, the day he's slated to disappear from The Daily Show.

I don't watch late night unless I see it on YT, etc. Maybe a snippet on the news. I see stuff online, the greats, even watched Jonathan Winters' take down of Frank Sinatra yesterday (blurry as hell), which was astounding. That guy was one of a kind riff machine. To me, nobody's better than Noah. He's not riffing, I figure, the one liners are planned, but planned so well and his response to the response is terrific.

When you say "To me, nobody's better than Noah", I'm hoping you mean "of the current crop of late night people talking about news in a comedic fashion", because Jon Stewart and John Oliver were both better IMO :)

Who is taking his place? Any word on that yet?

I feel like Klepper isn't in the running, on account of needing to recuperate after interviewing so many brainless magats. Poor guy, he's seen some stuff.

Jon Stewart and John Oliver are legends, and nobody has been on their level this is true.

OK, yeah, I didn't see much of them, so yes indeed, of the current ones he's easily the best in terms of tweaking out the satire.

I really enjoy Trevor's unique perspective. He will be missed. Whoever fills the shoes, I hope they similarly get the opportunity to take the show in a direction of their own

You not joking, huh? I just watched the first few minutes of Oliver's spiel 2 days before the midterms and it's 3rd rate compared to anything I've seen from Noah the last 6 months (and I've seen a lot!):

I was specifically comparing Jon Oliver's stint on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Last Week Tonight isn't directly comparable IMO.

OK, well, that video from a few days ago pales in comparison to what Noah's been doing, and that's a big understatement.

Just remember, they are simply reading the teleprompter. None of these hosts have original thoughts. They have writers for these political shows known as wordsmith's.

Noah is doing bite-sized surface level bits on a story, LWT is a deep dive on a singular topic, so it's not as packed with jokes (well, in the segments on YouTube, if you watch it on HBO Max there are sections that are more like The Daily Show before the main story)
Noah just isn't that great to me, I was a regular Daily Show watcher from the late 90s up until 2015 when Stewart left (so I started in the Craig Kilborn era)

I figure. But Noah's into it, ready for the response, his reactions are on point, his expressions appropriate, the writing and editing collages are apt, witty, don't try my patience.

It would not surprise me at all if Noah had a hand in some of the writing, as well. He obviously has quite a sense of humor. It's not just a job for him, it's a life style.

I have a Trevor Noah story for you guys. My friend flies business jets. This was (2021) last year. The director of flight operations came to him and said. Today you will be flying Trevor Noah. He said, ok. Is that supposed to mean something to me? He had no clue who Trevor Noah was. It wasn't a long flight either Portland, OR to Vancouver, BC or Seattle to Vancouver for a show/event. It was a round trip flight, same night. He said Trevor Noah was a nice guy.

This looks to be the last Daily Show Trevor did, "parting thoughts":
