exactly how does one apply cologne on oneself

ok. so I'm talking about the EDT spray bottle like
kenneth cole black or a polo sport.
are you supposed to apply some to your skin on your sides, upper chest, below the neck and stuff or does this stuff go after you have worn your threads?
different ppl have given me different answers.
what type of cologne goes on the skin and what type goes on clothes?

Don't overanalyze the application of the cologne. It's not that big of a deal.

If you do more than that it is overpowering. But cologne is overpowering to begin with.

Totally depends on the cologne. Some have terrific lasting power and one squirt is almost too much. Others need up to three squirts.

For weeks after I first got it, I was putting on only one squirt of KC Black. And then my GF asked me why I stopped wearing cologne.

Three squirts does the trick now. One to the neck, one to the chest and one to the wrists.

I usually hold the bottle out, facing up and spray it in the air. Then I walk through the mist. That way it won't smell like you bathed in it.

This is very true. However, since we all know (thanks to that one commercial) that scent is the sense most strongly tied to memory, you stand the risk of reminding her of an ex-bf...largely because aqua di gio is so da*n popular.

The trick is to find a cologne that girls will like, but that is also unique/not widely used. That way, everytime they smell it, they'll say something along the lines of, "I love that stuff, it always makes me think of you."

But if you want something tried and true besides aqua, issei miyaki also goes over quite well.
