That's kinda funny that the whole thread got started by Rollo's post on here. But read what that guy said later in the thread when asked for a source:

"a close friend of my relativ is working for Nvidia, i canot tell you anymore specifics about him as he is obligated by the work-license to not give out any information"

I'd feel better about this slickr fellow if he had passed second grade English.

I think Rollo's father works for Nvidia ;)

LOL- dude- I'm 42. My dad is retired and travels, golfs, and fishes. I think you'd have a hard time convincing him to work for anyone.

WHAT!?

i thought you were more like 30-35ish . if you got any kids , they sure as hell are lucky to have a gamer dad ;)

I'm the worlds only 42 year old man who only listens to TOOL, lives to game/fish/hunt. The wild five year old boy games and fishes with me, he wants to hunt when he's older.

He has a A64 3800+/6800GT SLI gaming computer, a XBox, a Game Boy Advance, and a Gameboy DS for his gaming antics. He's a better player than me at reflex games.

BTW- I've been a computer gamer since 1988. ;)

I beat you. Gaming since 1982...;)

Does Pong count? :)

INQ confirms that the card is clocked at 550/1800. So what now? Nov 7th is like 24hours away (NZ), so guess were about to find out if its BS or not.
512MB 7800GTX is not slated for Nov 7. ;)

When is it then? I thought it was nov7th.
"mid-november" afaik with no set date.

who buys their computer hardware at BB/CUSA?
Joe Consumer who wants the latest and greatest and they WANT it today and they want to see what their spending their hard earned money on before hand

That may or may not be true. But I doubt B&M retailers count for the largest portion of HIGH END Post POS sales.

And how many Joe Consumers do you think there are that would pay 300+ for a video card? Probably not many.

Why don't you tell us? You're the one that's been going around quoting dates. First you were saying Nov 1st, then you said Nov 7th. I asked you for a link before and you ignored me. I believe you're the one who started this Nov 7th rumor in fact.

A few months ago when all the speculation and rumor indicated the R520 to be 24/32 pipes and extreme clocks, nVidia fans were just as "certain" there'd be a matching Ultra waiting to be unleashed to make up the ground, with 32 pipes.

I think the tendency is to set our expectations way too high.

500MHz sounds reasonable as a recomended base clock speed, seeing as we do have some 490MHz retail GTX boards. Assuming 550-600MHz seems a bit "optimistic" to me, but it certainly would be great if they could pull off such an impossible feat.
