I'm looking at what software compares to EAC for extracting .wav files from badly scratched CD's. EAC is doing well for me right now but occasionally I come across a CD too severely scratched that it's almost unrecoverable.
 
If EAC can't do it, then AFAIK no other program could do it. You can try one of those "disc fixer" thingies from Fry's or CompUSA, try and buff the bad scratches out. Good luck
 
Definitely get a hold of of Disc/Game/DVD (they're all the same) Doctor. EBWorld has them. They work great!
