Ex-oil chief calls for gas rationing

Given the effect of the Hurricane, I hope this isn't a widespread consensus for dealing with fuel problems. That said, I could see gas rationing for the Houston area, as supplies aren't going to be able to get in as fast for obvious problems, considering more than half the city is without power.

Dumb idea. Reports indicate that refineries/oil rigs were not damaged severly during the hurricane. Oil is at 90 bucks a barrel and falling...

Its genius, pure genius. As Americans get so obsessed at getting their fair share of gas that they will not notice that the limited gas available has soared past $6.00 a gallon for no apparent structural reason. And oil companies can make more money by selling less. A production efficiency any industry would envy.

You have to be an oil company exec to understand how supply and demand rip offs work. They have a million of them already but this a new one.
