Ex-employee at my office is now stalking us...

We are a small office, we have 4 of us ladies working here and one man; my aunt and uncle are the owners and there are 3 employees.

We hired a guy to work part time a few months ago even after the fact that the office next to us had worked with him and told my boss he was bad news.

I and my co-worker knew he was bad news the day he started. (you just kinda get that weird feeling)

Anyways, he was canceling policies on purpose and would not do anything... literally. He made snide and very crude sexual comments to me as well as many customers.
My aunt finally came to the realization that he was not working out and fired him.

The day after he was let go, he started sending e-mails to my aunt that were incoherent and out of line.
This went on for a few weeks.

Now, people in our office complex have seen him around the building a lot, even after he was fired.
I am worried about what he is gonna do next.
What actions, if any, do you think we should take? Or are we just blowing this outta proportion?

But I'd definitely call the cops and save the emails. Harassment and threats are illegal. Also get a restraining order against the guy if nothing else...

What makes you think he is stalking? Is your parking lot only to serve your business? Or do you work in a large business park? He might be there for other business.

have him cited for trespassing and if he returns he can be arrested. You can also turn over any emails or messages he may have left to substantiate a case for harrassment or stalking.

What is really weird is that when I read the OP sentence, I read it as EVEN and did not know what notfred was talking about!

Ehhh i don't think you'll be able to get anything along the lines of a restraining order. Not yet, at least. Best bet: confront him directly, preferably with a male companion, and ask him exactly what his "deal" is? If you're feeling like a samaritan, you can give him numbers of contract agencies or other businesses with open positions. Cowering in fear and letting him roam around near the facility is NOT going to make him go away. He won't get bored. If anything, lack of retaliation will make him bolder. Take steps, and remember, if worst comes to worst, the cops will be on your side.

He might be looking for a job since he liked the location. BTW, until he did something, you couldn't do anything really since the parking lot cater to mult. businesses in the area.
