Since I've been listening to rap and hip-hop the n-word has been simultaneously used as a term of endearment and derision. For black women, the word of choice was 'bitches' (although Wu Tang did try to use ******ette here but it never caught on). Now, the word n-word is used for both sexes and by different races as terms of endearment and derision. However, culturally, if you're above a certain age and not black, you cannot use it at all or you'll be suspect.

Being white and over a certain age I can't think of a situation where I'd want to use it.

I'm hardly going to walk into the pub and exclaim to my friends "Yo! My niggas, first rounds on me!"
In the same way I wouldn't use the term "mother-fucker". Its just going to make you look like a dick.

Like when you see a guy in his 50s dressing like a teenager.

It is pretty retarded. For example, I just demeaned basically every mentally handicapped person out there, but is that censored? If I go on a rant about Arabs or wetbacks I'll probably get an infraction, but is any of that censored? This is a prime example of both doublethink and why moralistic censorship never accomplishes anything.

Damn, I just took a Dari thread seriously. Time for a break.

The n-word has evolved; the n-word and the c-word had a baby and it was raised by all the bad words for Jews,... baaaaaarrrp.
