Evo is way better. Faster than, brakes faster, and Handles a lot better then the STi.
Yep, and I still would take an STI any day of the week.
 
STi has a better interior, but an Evo will still whip it around a track.

I prefer the Evo because it's a better pure track car.

Even a sh1tty company can come out with a rare gem. In the case of the Evo, it's engine and AWD system has been around for years, it's been race proven...any argument about Mitsu's reliability doesn't carry over to it.
 
The Evolution schools the WRX and I would even prefer it over the STi

Of course, we all know you know nothing about cars and that you can't prove that statement without using the original C&D comparison done by Rod Millen, who is a contractor for Mitsu.

The Mitsu's neutral handling, however, was only able to overcome the Subaru's gutsy motor at one track. And we think some subtle chassis tuning on the STi would likely make it quicker everywhere. The tuning may be something as easy as an air-pressure adjustment.
Actually, the tuning is as easy as adding a small amount of negative camber to the front wheel alignment.
So... way better? You're way wrong. The STi equals or beats the Evo in about every performance category. Numbers don't lie. And considering the Evo is Mitsu-built crap, while the Subaru is nicer in just about every respect...

Its drivetrain may be good (even though all other mitsubishi drive trains seem crap!), but the rest of the car is still mitsu, and you'll still be wondering how to get warranty work when mitsubishi goes bankrupt and pulls operations out of north america (which, while I'm semi-joking, is a real possiblity with them). I guess for me I just would be hard pressed to buy one supposed gem from a company that otherwise sells tried and true garbage.

 
I find the "your Mitsu warranty will no longer exist, waaaaahhh" crap to be a stupid argument. Those that buy the Evo and use it and modify it and drive it the way it was meant to be used, modded, and drivern could give a fvck less about warranty. I've seen a number of Evo owners have warranty voiding mods done within days or weeks of getting the car.

Those that know what they're doing and know why they chose an Evo will have their own qualified mechanic to do all of the necessary work for them. You whiny warranty people need to get a grip.

No, those who know what they're doing will do it themselves. Warranty or not, do you know how annoying/expensive/hard it is to get parts for a Daewoo now? How do you think resale is going to be on a $30k car if the manufacturer jumps ship and leaves the country?

I could go and find the Road and Track and Motor Trend articles that found the same numbers as Car and Driver did. As well as numerous other tests. But Why would I waste my time? Anyone who knows about cars has already read these comparisson's.

And the fact remains, the Evo has LESS power - but its faster in the 1/4 and 0-60. It handles A LOT better then the STi. Somethnig like 1.03 g's in a stock Evo, and .89 in the STi. That is a huge difference, and places the Evo as one of the best handling cars in the world. So now your going to argue about what Car and Driver did to the STi, by altering the camber they made it handle better - well if your going to play around with the numbers on one car, you have to do it to both. So what happens when you tune both cars for max handling? That quote you made is the most biased quote I've ever heard. And if you overclock a Pentium 4, but DON'T overclock the AMD64, I'm sure the P4 can actually win some gaming benchmarks. Please.

As it stands now - your argument is so biased, everyone will see who knows what about cars. The numbers are all around, and the Evo wins.

Reliability is another argument altogether. The question was, which would you buy - and I answered it with my opinion. If I wanted a car like this, it would be because I have the money and I could care less how long it lasts - I would beat the sh!t out of it any way. And I'd be whopping every Subaru I saw on the street too. No matter what you think, your opinion is not better then mine - you elitist pr!ck.

even STI owners admit that the Evo is a faster and better handling car, but they gladly put some $$ into their STI to even it up

AMDZen goes wacky and get's all excited and makes typos but again he's correct.

wbresson is correct in his assesment. Some people like the STi better for a particular reason and it's still a great car. But the best bang for you buck is the Evo as it's easier to modify.

No your the 'Dietary Health Dick' today. Although 'Elitist Pr!ck' would be an oppropriate title for you some days as well. Along with lots of other forum members around here who all think their opinion is the only one that matters.

The facts stand - people say I don't know what I'm talking about when I'm simply stating facts. The Evo is faster stock for stock, and handles a lot better. If you start altering the suspension or something, thats different.

Overall it comes down to preference, STi or Evo. I'm not the one bashing anyone who prefers the STi though, just simply stating facts to back up my own.
