This is true. In general the dexterity and timing was far less forgiving in Super Turbo; I remember in SSF2Turbo, doing 2 in 1's into supers were impossible unless you were completely on point. Even something that was relatively simple in later games such as low forward 2in1 into super fireball - the timing had to be so impeccable and precise and most could not master at. Reversal timing was downright tough unless you had incredible reflexes and dexterity. Whereas now, the dexterity required to play well is far lower. That isn't to say that SF4/AF aren't good, they're great games. But the control is WAY more lenient as compared to SSF2 Turbo, as an example.
Fortunately, at least SF4/AE isn't dumbed down to a level of something like SF Alpha 2 or something along those lines.....that was a fun game but it was also completely mindless. Nonstop custom combos and alpha counters. You could literally win with Ken doing Alex Valle-type custom combos and his high damage kick alpha counter and absolutely nothing else. Completely stupid and mindless game which didn't require positioning, strategy or dexterity whatsoever. Just do a custom combo with full meter and take 80% of someones life just like that. I almost feel like SFA 1/2 were like the Marvel games of the Street Fighter world, and I don't mean that in a good way.
Anyway, all that aside....it was a great tournament. I was pleasantly surprised that PR Rog did so well, and also surprised that Infiltration didn't win SF4AE. After seeing him at 2012 EVO I thought for sure the tourney was his.
