What food you love to eat that make you feel like garbage afterwards?

By bad I mean it makes you feel pain or strange weird uncomfortable feelings.

For me any kind of junk food:

Hamburger - makes me feel like got smacked in the head
Fries
Coke - weird skin feelings
Popcorn

I already know I should do my best to stay away from anything that has monosodium glutemate and aspartame

My parents came into town and took me out to dinner the other day. I've been on somewhat of a diet for about a month now. Had some chicken wings along with some other fried goodies and I felt awful, both physically and mentally.

If you already know you should stay away from MSG, why would you eat those items?

Hamburger has either beef or a tofu/mushroom mixture. All of those ingredients have MSG. Hamburger usually has tomatoes or ketchup or mushroom toppings; all of those toppings have MSG. So does cheese if you have cheese on your burger.

Fries: I think potatoes have MSG, but I know the ketchup does.

Popcorn: Corn has MSG.

So, if you are truely sensitive to MSG, why would you be eating those?

For myself, I can't eat strange meats (meat that I haven't had in the last 30 days or so). Strange meat will shred up my insides and I'll be stuck on the toilet for a day and have the worst gas for at least 3 days. Yogurt helps fight that problem, but it just isn't worth eating strange meat.

Your 100% correct and I know all that stuff has MSG and etc.

I try as much as I can to avoid these things and get good food but sometimes I get into situations where I eat these things because of different reasons like immediate availability, hunger, ease of use..

For about a month now, I've been eating very healthy (trying to drop about 40 lbs...only 25 more to go!), and there are a few things that I would love to have but would suffer from (both in the waist-line and digestive tract)...

-Fried foods...anything fried. I dont care what it is. French Fries, Fried Chicken, Fried Shrimp, Onion Rings, etc. Fried foods taste so damn good, but it would definitely do a number on me right now.

-Beef. It's unbelievable how difficult it is for our bodies to digest red meat. I never believed it until I didn't eat any for a month. This past weekend I was at a fancy dinner/dance event to rub elbows with my coworkers and I had the prime rib. It was excellent, but I found it incredibly hard to digest now that my body isn't used to digesting red meat.

Is it accurate to compare the naturally occuring amino acid, glutamic acid, with the commercial food additive, monosodium glutamate?

Anything sweet in the morning. I have to be up awhile before I eat breakfast, but especially so if it's doughnuts, pancakes, or anything of the like. Otherwise, I'm pretty good as far as handling food goes.

Since they are identical and since studies don't show any difference, yes.

I've noticed that if I eat an inordinately large amount of sweets in one day, I'll feel somewhat more tired and less clearheaded the next day. I subsisted almost entirely on double stuffed oreos and chips ahoy oatmeal cookies yesterday. I'm feeling a bit...off today.

peanut butter is like my weakness. I don't like to have it in the house because I could totally go through an entire regular sized jar of skippy over the course of a long weekend (like when I was snowed in last week > >)

Fried mozzarella sticks + marinara.

I had them for the first time about 2 weeks ago, so I bought a box for myself. They're good, but....I don't think I'll be buying them again. For the low quantities of them that I will eat without side effects, it's not worth it to fire up the oven.
