Upgraded cooler @ same price.

I wouldnt worry about it frying as long as you've got it registered so it's warrantee'd. But they do run insanely hot. 80+celsius. And you MUST turn fan up to a fairly loud (relatively) level to even game @ stock settings stably. I HIGHLY advise you buy a card with aftermarket cooling.

I'd take the bfg over the Evga, because its the OCEdition and i'll wager it has a higher Vgpu voltage. ~1.1 to 1.15 stock.

the evga i bet has 1.05V. That will limit your core overclock.

I'm in Canada so I can't get stuff off newegg. I guess the price difference to go for a GTS would be worth it then considering the cooling, noise and performance aspects?

The only card I've had that was quieter than my palit 9600gt was passively cooled, and I've never had a card that ran cooler than it.
