eVGA Vcard RMA from 7900gt to something better?

Okay guys i need your feedback on this.
Ive got me a 7900gt as it says in the sig...

Yeah anyway I have one of the first 7900gt batches. When all the companaies overclocked their cards vigorusly and clearly didnt put sufficiant cooling on them.
So anyway, I get system hangs when i play games, I actually dont think this is due to the fact that the card gets to hot or that its overclocked too high, as i clearly have a VF900 on mine and ive tried underclocking it to stock clocks and still get the same problem.

So im gonna RMA it, I wonder what are my chances of getting a better replacement card?
I've heard tons of people telling me stories that theyve gotten 7900gtx's for RMAing there 7900gt KOs

Maybe you will get a GTO....eVGA is really good to work with...I bet you could call them up and even pay for an upgrade to a 7950GT or GTO.

You'll never know until you try it. They'll most likely give you a better card since you have one of their defective cards. I'm guessing they'll give you a 7950GT.

yeah, that would be nice if i got a GTX.
I wish i could pay like 50 dollars and get a GTX or something.
That would be really nice. I wouldnt mind a 7950gt or a GTO either.

If it's the old 7900GT model with Samsung memory, then most likely it will be replaced with the newer model (the ones with Infineon ram).

Upgrading your card is usually based on us not have any of that particular model in stock, in which case it would be upgraded to the closest model in terms of performance.

Oh yeah and one more thing i have a VF900 currently on it.
Do you think they care if i send it to them bare, i put that part about the card in the notes of the RMA, but i really dont think they read those. Maybe they do, i said i would ship the card bare and they put it through...

Indeed, a working card is better than a non-working card.

Well, you will need to send it back in its original condition (in this case, with the stock fan).

well then why did you guys accept my RMA request if i put i done have the original HSF on the card
i dont have the original at all actually

I RMAd in my 7800GT and received a 7800GT back, despite requesting an upgrade. eVGA did not show me the love.

looks like ill have to keep my card until i find a stock hsf
