Been looking for a 1k power supply but Newegg has been continually out of the HX1050. I also can not see to find any direct comparison reviews between the two. I have run Corsair PSUs in the past and they have performed very well.

Does anyone know of any direct comparisons between the two or has any recommendations?

I'm not aware of any reviews specifically putting these two units side-by-side, but the following links might be helpful:
Corsair HX1050: TechPowerUp, JonnyGuru
EVGA Supernova P2 1000W: TechPowerUp, JonnyGuru

The EVGA is a newer design, and seems to have gotten better ratings. JonnyGuru gave the Corsair a 8.6 rating, and the EVGA a 9.7 rating. On TechPowerUp, the Corsair scored an 8.9 while the EVGA got a 9.5.

Since both PSUs are currently selling for about the same price, and both are produced by reputable companies, I'd go with the EVGA. It's more energy-efficient, has a longer warranty (10 years!), and the reviewers gave it great ratings.

This one's pretty easy. Grab the EVGA P2 1000W $204 AR shipped
- OEM: Super Flower
- 10 year warranty
- Platinum efficiency
- Fully modular
- 9.7/10 from JonnyGuru

Edit: for comparison, HX1050 is more expensive, somewhat less efficient, "only" 7 year warranty, and got worse scoring from JonnyGuru on the two most important metrics: performance and build quality.

Yes, I have the Evga. I brought it after I ran my 550w XFX at full load for 3 months and the Evga hasn't let me down yet, but I also am only running it at max of 60% load. I got my Evga really cheap for a 1000w plus it being fully modular is excellent, plus 10 year warranty.

I ended up going with the HX1050 because it showed up in stock before I could finish my Supernova research. I ended up getting it for $180 which I thought was a pretty good price. I did buy it through ShopRunner so can return it if I change my mind to the Supernova. I do like the full modular on the Supernova and the Platinum vs Gold rating. Also the +50W on the Corsair doesn't matter much if at all.

I didn't trust that JohnnyGuru review for the HX1050 very much because he took off 2 points in one category for a partially loose heat sink screw and after looking around I never found once incident of this actually breaking free in real life.

Also I wonder if the HX1050 has been improved since the TPU review because they kept referring to the HX1050 as an 80 Silver when it is currently rated as 80 Gold.
