I want to go fully modular this time around but I don't want to pay ridiculous amounts of money.

As long as it's 700W+ and has support for two video cards (7870 XTs), I'm happy.

The two cheapest fully modular 700W+ PSUs I can find are:

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B (120-PB-0750-KR) £64
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 (220-G2-0750-XR) £93

The other fully modular PSUs seem to be £100+

Obviously the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B is a decent price.

Any thoughts?

I would suggest that you head on over to the evga forums and read up in their power supply section. I've run evga gpu's and mb's for years but you will not find one of their ps's in any of my systems.

The NEX750B is an FSP built unit, usually FSP makes quality stuff. I can't find reviews of this unit to confirm that. But given that it's only covered by 3 year warranty, look elsewhere.

I don't see the need for full modularity, you'll never need to strip the PSU of all cables. As long as the cables you don't use are modular, you're set. I've had a fully modular Seasonic X650 and a semi modular Seasonic G650, there is literally no difference in cable clutter. I actually prefer semi modular because the fixed cables are in a bunch right next to the motherboard tray, routing them actually looks cleaner than with a fully modular unit.

XFX 750W XXX £73
- Bronze
- Semi-modular
- 5 year warranty
- Seasonic-built

Seasonic SSR-750RM (aka G750) £99
- Gold
- Semi-modular
- 5 year warranty

There's not a whole lot of difference between these two... the latter is based on a newer design and does a somewhat better job at regulation, and has higher efficiency which results in lower noise levels and saves a bit of your electricity. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with the XFX unit, and despite the lower efficiency, it will be the less expensive long term solution.

I'm looking at NEX650 as a possible buy myself. Contrary to lehty, the reviews I've seen on the 500 and 650W mentioned that because of FSP, the lower voltage ripples go well past 3% when you get closer to 100% load.
I wish I could confirm if that'd be the case with the 750
