EVGA SuperNova 650G/750G Power Supply

It has a Ten Year Warranty and is Gold Rated. Also is comes from EVGA which is a plus.

I have went through two of them and waiting for my third one through cross ship RMA. The first two were purchased from Microcenter.

The most recent reviews are trending negative do to the fan breaking or overheating. However, any other before are positive.

My first one started making crackling/frying noises while my second had the fan break and made noise after a month.

The EVGA representative told me that they have been getting alot of RMA's recently for this reason due to a bad batch of recalled PSU units with some still ending up on store shelves.

He assured me that I will not have this issue with my replacement as it will be a brand new revised and tested unit. I wont have to pay shipping both ways. All I have to do I is ship the old unit back when I get the new one.

I hope I wont have this issue again.

Anyone else have this PSU or had any similar problems?

That's unfortunate. They're FSP made units, FSP has a good reputation although they're not up there with Seasonic, Superflower etc. They're more like CWT level.

Newegg shows 5 stars for the majority of user reviews for these units, suggesting that your problems aren't specific to the unit as a whole but just a bad batch.

Actually, this unit is more like a level below the usual CWT build since it's an FSP Raider platform.

Like the JG review of the FSP Raider said:

Traditionally, FSP has been the absolute king of decent power supplies for not much money. But this time, I think they're pushing the wheel uphill.
The FSP Raider 750W scored 7.8 at JG....not inspiring....but given there are better platforms for about the same money, I wouldn't put this particular line of power supplies on my short list of ps's to consider, esp. since its performance was scored a 7 and only because the 5V rail had good regulation. The 12V and 3.3V were very sub-par in volt. regulation.

I was looking for a 1KW unit, and was considering EVGA. There reputation has taking a beating as of late, I'm not looking at them any longer.............

Which is weird because it's their 1KW units that are actually top of the line, they are built by Superflower and extremely well reviewed
