eVGA Step-Up

So ya, i know plenty of people has done the step-up program, but has anyone done so without the original box and manuals and such?

i have lost or thrown away those items, and is looking to join the step up program with any luck.

i know evga says you need all that, but my card is in perfect condition with the tag sticker still on it, and unmodified.

(for the record, im trying to trade my 7600GT KO for a 8800GTS)

thanks in advance

You can probably still step-up, but they may deduct a flat % or a per item penalty. I believe their site says $5 per missing item in 4-5 categories. If you registered your card it'll make the process easier I think. Just make sure you have your original receipt/invoice to make a copy of to send in.

they will charge you fees for all you don't return. Or else they will simply send it back to you and say no.
You may want to contact them by email and ask first.

thank you, i feel a bit more at ease now, but could you point to me where they list the categories for the 5$ per? so i am prepared to pay the difference ahead of time.

and i just registered my card, and requested the step-up, but then i read the "original packaging and items needed" part after.

Looks like its 15% restocking fee for missing parts.

I might be thinking $5 per missing dongle/adapter from someone else's post about stepping up, but you might want to go over to eVGA's site and check out the forums there. There's a specific thread and CSR who deals with Step-Ups so you can probably get definitive answers there from the person who will end up authorizing your step-up.
