eVGA step up question I don't think has been asked

I got a 7800GT a few weeks back off newegg that was eligable for a $20 rebate. I absolutely hate rebates and never remember to send them in. When checking eVGA's website it says I will get back my purchase price minus any applicable rebates. Does this mean I had to send them in to be applicable? Since eVGA never gave me my $20 rebate I don't see how they could not give me back 100% of my purchase price from newegg.

What do you guys think? Also, any idea how long the wait in line will be for a 7900GT? I might just wait another month to do that.

If you didn't use the rebate, then I would not apply it to the price you paid when asked during the step-up process.

I'm in the same boat as you and if you didn't send in the rebate then it doesn't apply.
