I have looked everywhere on evga's website trying to find information about the step up program...anyone have a link to this or can tell me something about it...

sorry for the lack of resources, I had to come to you guys.....i definitely feel ashamed asking something so elementary as this.

What card do you have and what are you wanting to upgrade to? Also what did you pay for it?

i know this is kinda sappy but i wanted to buy the lowest end PCI-express card from eVGA until the 6800GT comes out. I just pieced together an SLi system that I am dying to buy (first computer build since 2000) but the 6800GT is NOWHERE to be found. Will they do a step up to that if i buy a 6200PCI-e??

Yes you can step up , you have only 90 days to do it though.

I am in the middle of stepping up to a 6800 Ultra.

The reason I asked what you paid for it is because you really guys who paid high prices are the ones who benefit from the step-up.

I paid $405 for my GT so I only had to pay $95 to step-up to an Ultra. Basically they give you what you paid for you card as credit toward whatever card it is you want to step-up to.

so, in actuality, I can purchase a fairly high PCIexpress card right now from newegg or a vendor that applies to the program and pay the difference when they FINALLY release the 6800GTPCI??

Since your planning on using the Step-up program then you might as well buy directly from eVGA, get a pair of 6600GT for $500 and that is money in the bank for when you are ready to use the step-up.

i was wondering where you bought your 6800GT and was it hard to qualify for the step up program?

I bought it last November, not its not hard..just fill out the form. If they are not in stock then you will be notifed when they are in stock. As long as you are signed up then you will get the step-up as soon as they are available even if it takes 6 months...though I doubt that would happen since eVGA is pretty much the leader in nVidia card sales.
