eVGA Step-Up program and the new NVIDIA cards

Since NVIDIA has decided to keep the 8800 name for the new card(s), do any of you have any idea how stepping-up work if I want to go from an old 8800GTS to the 8800GT or the possibly new 8800GTS? In terms of model numbers, I wouldn't be 'stepping-up' at all. More of a downgrade, or lateral movement.

So...yea.
 
i have no idea. i emailed them about it and they sent me back a cryptic email talking about stream processors that had nothing to do with my question.
